Your life is your art...
.....Danielle LaPorte
There are so many wonderful online classes at the moment...
and lots that I think I would love to do...
and then there are some...
that simply make your heart skip a beat...
and undeniably call you to come play...
and that is exactly what happened
when I saw Kate Thompson's
I bought this book over a year ago now...
and pull it out regularly...
to look longingly at the pages...
and even though it inspires me no end...
I have actually never created anything from it...
I don't know why...
so when I saw Kate's class involved painting on plaster fabric...
I signed up on the spot...
and today I played...
painting on a background of plaster...
and my heart did not stop singing...
this is my very first attempt...
I have more plaster fabric drying as I type...
because I simply cannot wait to try it again...
and oh my gosh Kate also has
where she creates a book with plaster fabric pages...
and my fingers are itching to sign up for that one as well...
creative and happy week my friends...

plaster, i guess it is much thicker than gesso? is it different from painting on gesso? it looks a bit like a fresco, is that true?
i look forward to seeing what else you will be up to!
Hi Tammie... yes, it is very similar to painting on very thick gesso.... the watercolors do go on beautifully... and yes... definitely a bit like a fresco.... and of course lots of fun...lol

Wonderful new experiments. I'm trying to stay away from a few techniques. Encaustic is one and plaster is another. It all looks wonderful, but I think it would just be a little too much to ad to my routine of already way too many techniques.;-) I love what you're doing though! Enjoy!
